What I'm loving right now...

I heart these boots...if only they weren't $348. A girl can dream though. Why do you have to be SO expensive, Frye????

My NEW camera lens!! (A big THANK YOU to my in-laws and my hubby!!) Needless to say, my dogs have had some major photo shoots these past few days. Next up on my list of guinea pigs is my BFF's precious baby girl, Emma Gray!!

This OPI nail polish...You Don't Know Jacques:

My besties that I get to have Christmas dinner with tomorrow night (and their hubbies too!)

Kristy, Brooke, me, Katie, Linds & Emma Gray, Mare & Wells
Tyler candles...especially Limelight. They make your entire house smell delicious.

And last, but DEFINITELY not least...the fact that these people are in town or will be soon for Christmas!

One week from today!!

We will be here:
NYC!!!

with two of our BFFs, Ashley & Brent:

Here are a few things on our to-do list:

1. Top of the Rock. Yes, we are definitely going to FREEZE. The HIGH of 33 will be brutal but it's going to be worth it. Check out the view from up there:

Hopefully there will be some snow on the ground in our pictures though!

2. Ice Skating at Rockefeller Center. I'm sure this will end up being HILARIOUS. I don't think any of us have ice skated in a good 10 years.

3. See a Broadway Show. Not sure which one yet...we are still undecided. Any recommendations are welcome!

4. Shopping! I know the guys are thrilled about this, but there will be lots of this going on. I foresee them sneaking away to a bar to watch sports. What do you think, Ashley??

5. Food. Lots of good food. We will definitely be hitting up Patzeria Perfect Pizza for the BEST. PIZZA. EVER. Also, on the list is the Doughnut Plant (sounds like heaven to me!), 5 Napkin Burger, STK & Carmine's.

6. Canal Street for some good knock-offs.

And I know there will be lots more. I mean, it's NYC...the to-do list is never-ending!

What I'm hoping for this Christmas

Does Santa bring snow?? Because, just once, I'd love to wake up on Christmas morning to this:

Yes, please!

Fingers crossed!!

Holiday Tour of Homes

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is the decorations. Everything just seems prettier and cozier once the Christmas decorations are out. I also LOVE seeing other people's houses at Christmas time. So I decided to join in the fun at the Holiday Tour of Homes hosted by The Nester.

Welcome to our house!
I get really excited about getting our tree and I am very particular about which one comes home with us. It must be REAL, very full and most importantly, very fat. This baby meets both of those requirements with ease...mission accomplished.
A few of my favorite ornaments on this tree:
1. Sydney & Miller ornaments! 2. Jason proposed with an orange M&M. He gave this to me that year.
3. We are a house divided. (Even though it was a bad year for us...GO TIGERS!) 4. An ornament for our first Christmas
5. Luke 2:9-14  6. My mom had this made for me when I graduated from Clemson.

Our big tree lives in our living room, but since the den is where we spend most of our time, I decided we needed a smaller version in there with us. I tried to get creative and put this little guy in an urn. I stole the idea from my aunt and let me tell you, it looked really cute. Right up until it fell over and the urn broke. Thank goodness I hadn't put the ornaments on yet. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the accident so this will have to do:

Stockings hung by the chimney with care:

Our foyer is one of my favorite decorated spaces. I love my nativity set and it's a daily reminder of why we celebrate Christmas.

The kitchen got in on the fun this year too. How cute are the cupcake ornaments?

OK, that pretty much covers it...now I want to see your decorations! So head over to The Nester and join in the fun!

If the Nativity happened today...

I thought this was very cute...

Allergic to Mornings...

I had a hard time coming up with a name for this blog. Obviously, I wanted it to be something about who I am but I just wasn't sure what I wanted that to be. Our last name is pretty different so I couldn't think of a good play on words with that. Yes, we are trying to start a family, but that's not all I want this blog to be about. And then, it came to me out of nowhere...Allergic to Mornings. Just ask my husband or my parents...they can tell you all about it. :)

Ever since I can remember, I have been the worst morning person ever. The alarm clock is seriously my nemesis so on weekdays I pretty much wake up in a bad mood because of the stupid thing.
I have become a master at hitting the snooze button before the alarm even starts buzzing. And I definitely snooze for about an hour each morning. It's ridiculous, I know.

When I was growing up, not only did it take the evil of the alarm clock to wake me up, but my dad would have to come in my room multiple times, turn the lights on, sit on me, yank the covers off the bed, etc. I'm sure he really looked forward to that. I would wake up mad at him almost everyday which is awful because look how sweet he is:
So, obviously I've always known this was a problem for me and I became a little bit concerned about what I would do in college when I didn't have my dad there to make sure I got my butt up and to class each morning. And here's where the world's second worst morning person comes in to the picture, Kristy, one of my childhood besties.
This is Kristy. :)
As college roommates our freshman year at Clemson, we came up with a brilliant plan that we would take the exact same schedule so we would motivate each other to get up in the mornings and go to class. I'll let you guess how well that plan worked. :) Needless to say, there was a lot of snoozing going on with two alarm clocks in one tiny room and a whole lot of jumping out of bed, throwing a hat on and running to class in our pjs. We made it through our freshman year, but let's just say there may or may not have been grade letters deducted for missing more than 3 classes.

Enter present day...the scenario doesn't look that much different. Don't worry, I don't wear my pjs to work and I promise that I brush my teeth and take a shower every morning. But I definitely wait until the last possible second every single morning to get up and 99% of work days you'll find me putting my make up on in my office.

So, there you have it folks, I am 100% allergic to mornings...too bad Zyrtec doesn't do anything for that.

Clearly I am awesome at this.

So yeah, I already suck at blogging. I put up exactly one post and then completely forget about the ol' blog. Well, not anymore...I am back. I know, it's super exciting. :)

To be honest, I think I felt like I wouldn't have much to blog about until we started a family. But I've decided that I dont have to wait on that anymore. There are so many wonderful things in my life right now and whether I'm pregnant or not, I want to be able to look back and remember them.

So, I'll start by introducing you to the loves of my life. First and foremost, my amazing husband, Jason.
(I dont know why my picture is so tiny)
I don't think I can put into words how much he means to me. So, I'll just leave it at this: I am one lucky woman!

Next up, Sydney and Miller...our crazy but lovable children dogs.
They love each other. :)
Sydney is the yellow and Miller is the chocolate. These two are spoiled rotten. But look at those sweet faces...we can't help it.

OK, so there you have it...a little something about me. And there's more where that came from...I'm serious this time. :)

Ready, Set, Go.

So, I've been sitting here thinking...what exactly do you say in your very first blog post ever without sounding like a big cheeseball?

The answer: I don't know. So I'm going with this...

I'm starting this blog. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to tell anybody about it because I don't know if I have anything interesting to say. And just so you know, I don't really know what kind of blog this is going to be yet either.

Let's see where this goes...
