35 weeks, 2 days!

We made it to 35 weeks and we're still hanging in there! 35 weeks is a big milestone because if they had been born before 35 they automatically have to go to the NICU. Now, it just depends on how well they are doing when they arrive.

Since we've been here, they've been monitoring my blood pressure every 4 hours. It had been holding steady up until yesterday evening when we got two high readings. So, we will be finding out soon if today will be their birthday! (That doesn't even feel real to type that!)

Obviously, the longer I stay pregnant, the better for the babies. But, I have to admit that I'm going a little bit crazy after being in the hospital for a week now!

I'll post later with another update once we find out more...and I'll try to get a picture in there too. :)

It's Time to Play Catch Up!

I know, I know...I'm a huge slacker when it comes to the blog. And honestly, I don't even have a good excuse. :)

So, let's get caught up, shall we?

Last time I posted I was 21 weeks I think. Currently, I'm 34 weeks and 4 days and the babies are doing great!

I, on the other hand, am a little bit of a different story...

We had our regular weekly appointment on Wednesday of this week. My blood pressure was up a little bit, but the nurse said not to worry and that she would check it again before I left. So, we had our ultrasound and then the doctor came in a dropped the bomb. I had protein in my urine and that combined with the higher blood pressure had won me a trip to the hospital to be monitored for preeclampsia. I checked in on Wednesday around lunch and we found out this morning that, unfortunately, I definitely have it. Which means I am a permanent resident here until they decide it's time for the babies to be born.

We're hoping to get at least another week, but we'll just be taking it day by day. I promise to be better about updating! Especially since I really have nothing else to do now that I'm spending my days in a hospital bed. :)

21 weeks!

21 weeks!
(sorry for the bad cell phone pic!)

How far along? 21 weeks, 2 days

How big are babies? PB & J are about 10.5 inches long and are weighing in at about 1 lb. each

Total weight gain/loss: Up 16 lbs or so...depends on what time of day I weigh. I like to go with the "first thing in the morning" weight! I mean, that's the most accurate, right??

Maternity clothes? Of course. And I'm really ready for some fall clothes and more importantly fall weather!

Movement: Lots of movement...and I'm starting to be able to see it from the outside which is super weird.

Waist Diameter: I should just take this category off because I can't seem to get around to doing this.

Food cravings: Nothing in particular right now.

Gender: Boy and Girl!
Labor Signs: None!

Belly Button in or out? Still in...

What I miss: Good sleep. Between waking up to go to the bathroom and the random pains that come with my body stretching so quickly, I feel like I do a lot of tossing and turning.

What I am looking forward to: Jason feeling the babies move. They are being shy when he puts his hand on my belly but I know pretty soon they'll be moving so much they he wont be able to miss it.

Milestones: Making it past the half way point!

What I'm Craving

So, among all the pregnancy cravings that come and go, there is one thing that tops my list...

I'm desperately craving FALL weather.

How cute are these painted pumpkins?! I definitely plan on having a pumpkin painting party this year!

So ready for fall clothes! Even though mine will be a little bit larger than usual this year. :)

Oh, these boots. LOVE.

Fall nail color...OPI I Brake for Manicures

And last but definitely not least...nothing says fall like a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice latte!

It's a...

I know, I know...I've totally left you hanging on the sex of our babies! I'm a huge slacker and still haven't downloaded the pictures from the Gender Reveal party yet. So, instead of making y'all wait any longer...I figured I would go ahead and tell you!

So, going in to the ultrasound, both Jason and I thought we were having a boy and a girl. And based on previous ultrasounds, our guess was that Baby A was a girl and Baby B was a boy.

Here's what we found out about Baby A...

The ultrasound tech spent a few minutes getting a few pictures of sweet Baby A, while Jason and I waited in suspense to find out what Baby B was. And at this point, we were both thinking that Baby A was also going to be a boy since that what we had been thinking all along.

Finally, we moved on to Baby B and this is what we found out...

So, come December, our house will be filled with lots of PINK and BLUE! We are SUPER excited!!

17 weeks!

Your Baby: Week 17

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints.

How far along? 17 weeks, 4 days

How big are babies? PB & J are about 5 inches long

Total weight gain/loss: Up 6 lbs. Not too bad yet. :)

Maternity clothes? Oh yes. There is no way I can wear my regular pants/shorts anymore. I have some dresses that still work but my shirts are getting too short now. So, maternity clothes from here on out.

Best moment this week: Feeling the babies move!

Movement: I'm feeling some little kicks from both of them every now and then. Nothing too strong yet.

Waist Diameter: Still haven't done this...I'm a slacker.

Food cravings: My most recent craving has been orange juice.

Gender: We know what they are! But I'm going to make you wait until the next post since it will be all about our gender reveal party and I don't want to ruin the surprise! Any guesses?? (Except for those of you who already know.)

Labor Signs: Still none! Thank goodness!

Belly Button in or out? Still in...but much more shallow now. :)

What I miss: Good sleep. Between waking up to go to the bathroom and the random pains that come with my body stretching so quickly, I feel like I do a lot of tossing and turning.

What I am looking forward to: Starting on the nursery!

Milestones: Feeling the babies move, finding out what they are, and picking out fabric for the nursery!

Realization of the week: I'm almost half way! This pregnancy is going by a little quicker than I thought it would.

14 weeks!

How far along? 14 weeks, 2 days

How big are babies? PB & J are about 3 inches long

Total weight gain/loss: Not quite sure. I lost 5-6 lbs initially with the lovely morning all-day sickness, but I've gained that back now (Thank goodness for Zofran and Phenergran!). I think I might be up a total of about 2lbs.

Maternity clothes? I had to make my first maternity clothing purchase this weekend. The band with my regular jeans just wasn't cutting it anymore. I can still wear a lot of my regular shirts and dresses though.

Best moment this week: Making it to the second trimester!

Movement: Haven't felt anything yet.

Waist Diameter: Haven't done this yet, but I will. I feel like it could start to get pretty funny towards the end.

Food cravings: So far, peaches have been my only real craving. Although, I have been eating pizza a lot too. Which explains why I have easily gained back all the weight that I lost. :)

Gender: Not sure yet. When I first found out that I was pregnant, I just had this feeling it was a girl. Then we found out it was twins and I thought either boy/girl or two girls. But now, I'm not sure anymore! :) We have an appointment at the end of the hopefully we will find out then!

Labor Signs: None! And let's hope it stays that way until December!

Belly Button in or out? In. But I have a feeling that might change. :)

What I miss: Not really anything. Maybe sleeping through the night without having to get up to go to the bathroom or eat. But I know I should just go ahead and kiss that goodbye since it's going to be a long time before that happens again.

What I am looking forward to: Our appointment this month!

Milestones: Second trimester!!

Realization of the week: We are having twins! This happens about once per week where I'm like oh my gosh, we are having two babies! It's crazy, but super exciting!

And for those of you who have requested belly pics...they are coming tomorrow!

I have a little secret...

I am SUPER excited to let everyone in on our little secret...

But WAIT...there's more! At our first ultrasound appointment, this is what we saw:

We're having TWINS!!

PB & J (we liked that better than Baby A & Baby B) are due January 9th, 2012.
But, since there are two in there, they will make their debut sometime in December!

Yes, I'm still alive :)

First things first...Happy Friday!!! I thought it might never come this week!

So...I guess my last post about how I was back from hiatus was a bit of a fib. But I promise it wasn't intentional. I just haven't had much to blog about these past few weeks. Actually, it's a combination of that and the fact that I've been kind of lazy. :) an apology for being MIA for so long, I'm sharing my latest discovery...TasteSpotting. (Thanks to a new blog friend, A Wedding Story!)

It's a site based on people uploading pictures of yummy foods and recipes. Each picture you click on takes you directly to the blog it came from.

I don't know about y'all, but I am always looking for new recipes to try. I feel like I get stuck in a rut and make the same things over and over. But I always want to see a picture of the recipe before I try just makes me feel better for some reason. And you don't always get that on all recipe sites. Enter TasteSpotting...a perfect solution to both of those problems!

So start searching...and happy cooking!

Love Note

When I got home from my work trip to Louisville and Boston, Jason had already left for the weekend for a Bachelor party. But, when I went into our room, I realized he had left me a little love note:

In case you can't read it, this is what it says:

Hey Honey!
I know we are on a budget and I love you for trying with me
but I want you to have this for a little shopping.
When the pit stains are's time.
I love you!

Isn't he the sweetest? :)

And in my defense, here is the shirt he was referring to. It's not THAT bad. :)

Needless to say, I took the money he left me and did a little shopping that night...
you don't have to tell me twice!

Back from Hiatus

So sorry for the long absence! I was out of town for work last week, which left little time for blogging. But, now that I'm caught up from being out...I'm back. I know you've all been anxiously waiting, right? :)

I've talked before about my love for flash mobs. Well, this past weekend, some college students from this area coordinated one in the park downtown. Much to my dismay, I was not aware of this. So, sadly, my dream of participating in one has still not come true. I mean, how much fun were these kids having?? I am so jealous!

P.S. I'd like to dedicate this post to you, Heather! :)

Thoughts on Thursday

-I was planning on sharing my Shrimp & Grits recipe today, but I completely forgot to take a picture of it last night. And what's a recipe post without a picture? I'll try to remember to take one when I heat up the left overs. :)

-Today is my Friday! WOOOHOOOO!!

-I have lunch with my besties today (except Mare...we'll miss you!) and I can't wait!

-I really need to get my butt in gear when it comes to working out. Bathing suit season is RAPIDLY approaching.

-On that note, I ate a brownie for breakfast. Apparently my definition of trying to lose weight is eat whatever I want, work out very little and just hope that the pounds magically disappear. Good plan.

-Also, the amount of candy we have in our office right now is not helping. I have no self control.

-I'm really excited about Easter service this weekend at Newspring. It's going to be AWESOME!

-I can't believe that April is almost over. This year is flying by...crazy!

-Ants are eating my strawberries in the garden and I am not happy about it. Any suggestions for what I can do about that?

-We're going to have 4 dogs at our house this weekend. This should be interesting.

-I was a little disappointed in Idol last night. And I think it's time for Steffano to go home. What do y'all think?

Wish List Wednesday: Spring & Summer Lovin'

Is it just me or does everyone else look in their closet each new season
and wonder what the heck they wore last year?

So, with that said, this pretty weather we've been having lately has got me
itching for some new stuff for spring and summer.

Here are a few of my top picks:

I'll take one of each of these lovelies in my size, please.

Houston, we have a Strawberry

Last year, we planted 3 strawberry plants in our garden and had zero luck with them. They were too low to the ground and everytime a strawberry would start to ripen, it would just rot. :(

But look what I noticed when I was home for lunch today:

A perfect little strawberry!!

Hopefully, this is a good sign and we will have lots more of these in the next few weeks.
Fingers crossed!

Just so you know. :)

A Rock Hill Wedding & A little bit of Chicken Fried

As I promised, here are some pics from the wedding we went to last weekend.

The guys at our table at the rehearsal dinner...

After the rehearsal dinner, we headed to a classy establishment
right outside our hotel called the Fast Lane to meet up with the girls.
Thank you Aimee & Jenni for ruining our cute picture. :)

Chad and Tate

Jason and Tate
Bromance, anyone?

Me and the hubs after I spilled almost an entire beer in my lap. So graceful.

And here's a few from the wedding:

Evan photobombing me and Ashley...typical

One of my new favorite pics of us...he looks so handsome in a tux

The (partial) Fine Nine

Me, Ashley and was a little cold which is why we are all swaddled in our wraps :)

Chris, Lindsey and Tate

Us with Emily and Brandon

Kenny and Kari

One with the gorgeous (and teeny tiny!) bride
I had to squat down so I wouldn't be 6 inches taller than her!

Let the dancing begin!

And this weekend, we're going to see the Zac Brown Band in Clemson. I'm pretty excited about it! The last time we tried to see him it was at an outdoor amphitheater and it got ruined by a terrible lightening storm after he played about 5 songs. Right now, the forcast is saying we have a 40% chance of thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon. Did I mention that once again this is an outdoor concert??

Come on, weather! Don't do this to us again!!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you're weekend fun doesn't get rained out! :)
